I don’t think I tried really hard
To make you see
That there is only so much time we get
Before we have to die
If you had stopped being afraid,
even for a minute,
I would have explained
“Drop the pretence,
We don’t have a lot of time.”
What were you afraid of revealing?
The pain, the shame, the loneliness?
My beloved fool, those run through us all.
Look at me, I’m not afraid to say
That my love for you broke open my heart
And wherever it shattered,
It was divinized.

Very Venus
In Scorpio? Or generally Venus? Or Venus-Neptune for poetry?
I´m not sure if it is venus-neptune with a touch of pluton, but sure is a lovely way to start my day! Tks Net!
lovely. indeed one must be shattered be being “divinized”. no two ways about it.
Oh my gosh, beautiful – just beautiful! This beautiful poem resonants loudly for me. thanks!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Beth. xxx
