Neptune swam into Pisces in April 2011 and then retreated into Aquarius in August. It moved into Pisces for a long stay in early February 2012 and will move back and forth over the first three degrees of the sign of the Fish till March 2013. Chiron moved into Pisces in February 2011 and will go back and forth over the first 10 or so degrees till the end of 2013.
If you have planets in the first 10 degrees of the Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius or have your Sun early on in these signs, I dare say you have felt these transits. I was thinking earlier that Neptune makes promises it does not keep and thus causes a sense of disillusionment and loss. And what do you get when Chiron, the Wounded Healer, works on your chart? Great pain that needs healing.
I see the movement of Neptune and Chiron in the early degrees of Pisces as a great testing time for the mutable signs. A time of loss, pain, disillusionment, sacrifice and devotion; a time when many tears are shed. Your life could be going along nicely, or maybe not so nicely, and then these two come along and then you know what real grief and loss are. And that life is indeed so much bigger than you. A force you cannot control and what the Buddha says comes to mind, “Life is suffering.”
These are trying times, also because the square between Uranus and Pluto is active right now and many lives are in upheaval. We’ve are being stripped away of the illusion that we can control things. What I have found helpful right now is faith. Trust. Trust in God that no matter what is happening is happening for the best and that no matter what the outcome, we will be able to deal with it. Trust in the fact that no matter where the waves of Neptune and Chiron grief and loss wash us, we’ll survive. That there is a greater force shaping our destiny and all we need to do is surrender to that force and its will and we will be all right.
Neptune dissolves, takes away, asks for surrender and unconditional devotion. Chiron splits your heart open and there is great pain. But in that pain you can find compassion. Eyes that weep, once the weeping is done, are deeper eyes, kinder eyes. Grief and loss can make you bitter, can make your shut your heart and make you turn your face away from life. Or they can make this realm of living a more magical place where we are grateful for much even though we have lost much.
I’ll end with a Buddhist prayer a friend sent me:
May all sentient beings have happiness and its causes
May all sentient beings be free of suffering and its causes
May all sentient beings not be separated from sorrowless bliss
May all sentient beings abide in equanimity, free of bias, attachment and anger.

wow i really needed to read this. thank you so much for this post. I am going through serious heartache right now relating to a mutable sign (pisces) and it’s good to believe it is all for a reason. Others i know as well are going through very tough times and I was thinking, there has to be something going on with the planets. They are not just giant masses floating in space, they have a huge effect on us.
i was looking for answers when i came here and i think i found it. its all in the stars then, the heartbreak, the pain, the loss, the grief so maybe i can let myself off the hook. i gave my best and still failed to win his heart. nothing remains to be done now.
If you did all you can, let yourself off the hook. Breathe in and make the most of the life that is yours now and the future that’s to come. There is happiness in unexpected places. xxx
I came to your fb page today were I found this, and I found it at exactly the right time I needed it. This explains so much right now for my Pisces self, and it has given me great peace. God bless you!
I’m glad it helped, Rita. Thanks for your comment and the blessings, badly needed right now. xxx
More blessings and good feelings coming your way xxxx
Do you find that many of the mood swings we all have from time could well be associated with this flitting in and out of different signs by Neptune and Chiron? The other major factor here is that The Moon is constantly in trine, sextile, opposition etc with both Chiron and Neptune over the course of a few weeks? I think when people are particularly in tune with The Moon they may be more prone to highs and lows than people who are in tune with say, The Sun.
So easy to underestimate the effect of Neptune. You really have captured its strength here. It’s in its own sign Pisces and acting in concert with Chiron…and in early degrees. Our dreams for the future of this tiny planet are crucial now. Beautifully written and consoling as well. I am not bothered…no, I love that you can talk about Buddha and pray to God at the same time. Hedging your spiritual bets, but why not? It’s a mutable thing- mutable is the key to our survival as a species.
Some on Facebook also pointed out that this is the year the eclipses are in Gemini-Sag, so a big year for the mutables.
Your last comment made me laugh, Carl. Hedging my bets! Why not? But you’re right, I didn’t think deeply about what the Buddhist say about God or do I mean no God?
Good to see you here, my friend. xxx
I would love to get a reading from you. My name is neeti too, like yourself have a love for astrology.
Hi Neeti, I’m still studying and I don’t do readings. Not quite ready yet. But I can recommend my two teachers:

Mike, http://www.neptunecafe.com/
But thanks so much for requesting a reading from me, it gives me hope,

My ex-gf, a Pisces Sun with Moon in Scorpio and Venus on the cusp of Pisces/Aquarius, began an affair in February 2011, then left me for yet another guy (Cancer) in February, six months after I went on kidney dialysis, sticking me with all of the bills until the lease ends Sept 1. They plan on marrying Oct 17, nine months after meeting. I can only conclude that Neptune conjuncting her Sun and Venus in early Pisces is responsible for this ill-advised romance and will lead to a great disillusionment and disappointment. What do you think?
So, if my Venus is at 11 Gemini, will I still be affected?
Yes, when Neptune and Chiron move closer to this degree.
Ok – get this. If you know about astrocartograpy – I presume you do:) – I moved into an area where I am very close to the chiron mc line. And this area has been a steep learning curve. Mind you I also moved when pluto was in sagg and neptune had just moved into aquarius. I am still here – I got trapped. I have never fitted in and am battered and bruised from the experience. I am isolated. But I have worked on my health using various herbs and vitamins/minerals. Health improvement began slowly but has been steady. I was also born with chiron in pisces anyway. So I reckon that these past fourteen years have really grounded me with chiron. Chiron moving into pisces I do not see as bad or painful – I am used to it now – infact since chiron went into pisces I have made further improvment via insights to my health. I have become increasingly fascinated in how the mind/thoughts control health ie supressed anger can give headaches or depression can result in tendenitous. I have mars at 6 of picses and the sun at 8 of the same sign opposing uranus at 7 virgo. So far I am doing fine.
Thank you for sharing that. And nice to hear about the healing with Chiron moving into Pisces. Also I was just telling a friend last evening that the Virgo-Pisces axis is so connected to illness and healing one way or another.
